Chrysler - Brand New Car 2013 Dodge Dart SXT is a LEMON
I bought this car in October 2013 and was in the shop the first month because the tire blew. I had a spare on it the first two weeks because they wouldn't tell me whether it is covered.
I bought one on my own and I am still waiting on their answer. Two months later I was broke down with an engine malfunction and an overheating indicator. My car was towed to the dealership and they replaced a faulty thermostat and did a coolant flush. The electrical has problems where the gas gague doesn't always work, the interior lights on dash dim on their own, and the lights don't always turn off.
Now the car is leaking red fluid from the engine and the dealership said it's a deteriorated hose to the radiator, which they can't fix for a week. When I asked why this happened to a new car they blamed it on the weather. I told them I have to drive to Boston to take my son to the doctor's and they said you should be okay. (It's a 600 mile trip, in the middle of winter, with a one-year-old).
They never offered a rental.
I am disgusted with this car and it's unreliable. Chrysler should have never released this car and now I am stuck with a car I am afraid to drive.
Monetary Loss: $24000.
Location: Syracuse, New York

Wow, I've never seen so many ridiculous defects in a car...ever...thank you internet for showing me what a piece of *** the Dart is. Site after site, blog after blog, all the same thing, blown trannies, bad 1.4turbo engines, entire dashboard replacements due to failed screens/electrical, bad cooling systems, they all seem to have *** thermostats, and hoses such as listed below on this blog.
multiple blown tires within a month...a couple of complaints you can attribute to the trolls, but it's the same failures over and over on every blog site.
I bought a 2014 mazda 3 GT hatch instead, real world mileage has actually been better than the Darts posted figures and I'm betting resale will be far far better unless Dodge quickly addresses their evident build quality issues. Yikes!
Again.. Look up lemon law!
Your car is not a lemon according to the law! But keep thinking it is!
Sorry to burst your bubble and drag you back to reality! Get back to me when you know what the lemon law is!
Lou, you are a mean person. I've been through enough without your comments. Didn't your mother teach you anything.
It's not a lemon... You need to have the same exact issue 4 times before it's considered a lemon.. I love you I.diots throwing terms around and have no idea what they really mean!
